I am an immunologist and aspiring neuroscientist interested in breaking disciplinary boundaries.

My past research spanned many immunology topics, including bacterial virulence and metabolism, immuno-oncology, intestinal host-microbiota interactions, and tissue immunity. My current research explores neuroimmune interactions in mucosal organs. Check out my Science page for more!

Outside the lab, I enjoy geeking out about science through outreach, scientific journalism, and biotech/venture.

Beyond that, you can find me exploring new countries in search of interesting sights, sounds, and people or hiking in the woods observing cool wildlife. I also dabble in rock climbing, amateur photography, and learning new languages.

For the phonetically curious, my name is pronounced “Pie-lin Jia-ra-nun”. I also go by Pai (“Pie”).
